For an unassuming blue-green marble tumbling through the vast fathoms of space, the planet Earth has made a remarkable impact on the cosmos. With the dawning of the age of space empires, Earth has become the central drawing pin of a map unfurling across the stars, as Human cosmonauts explore and conquer realms and star territories far from their homeworld.
Earth remains relatively unspoiled, boasting rolling green hills and vast oceans, although great cities such as London are equally full of wonders, and provide a welcome respite for weary space captains.
It was on this world that Humanity made first contact with extraterrestrial life, and the planet's own natural satellite, the Moon, became the first cosmic territory claimed by the burgeoning British Space Empire. Since then, the Star Territory of the Albion Reach has spiralled outwards from Earth to encompass countless worlds, some of which have even been transformed to remind their settlers of their distant home.
