Eye of Horus
A deadly disk of danger
Space travel being the dangerous endeavour that it is, most sane and civilised pilots keep to the verified star-ways and char-trails, leaving the unexplored deeps to the Cartographers and Infomarium survey teams. For some daring space captains, however, these enigmatic cosmic regions present less of a bothersome obstacle on the trip home from work, and more of a challenge to be surmounted.
The infamous Eye of Horus is a protoplanetary disk in the Dancing Skeleton system, and has earned a reputation for claiming many unwary spacecraft in fatal collisions with any of its millions of superhot planetesimals. However, it also lies along a direct path from Port Bobus to the string of smuggling coves fringing the Barkeem Ascension; for this reason, some brave navigating the Eye either by choice, or as a consequence of being pursued by the Royal Navy.
