Jolly Good

Captain Dashworth's adventure craft

"It's a rocket ship. It goes whoosh!"
 — Captain Dashworth
An impossible ship that shouldn't reasonably stay in one piece, let alone whizz around the cosmos as Captain Dashworth's magnificent flying machine. The good ship Jolly Good is an engineering marvel that would redefine the blueprints for the future of space travel—if anyone had any clue how the ship even worked.

The addled Professor Runcible is to blame for the temperamental vessel, having constructed it in a transcendental haze of cosmic inspiration and profound chemical imbalance. Waking, the bleary professor discovered a sleek, curvaceous rocket ship waiting to be sailed to the furthest reaches of the known universe... and beyond.

While containing all the usual components of an interstellar rocket ship, such as turbine drives, a Leiden Chamber and a ship's wheel, the Jolly Good was possessed by an energy none of its crew could quite explain. The engines were occasionally known to disappear into another dimension, a small shanty town was established on the wing during its downtime in London, and a cadre of monkeys roamed the lower decks, serving breakfast.

Dashworth found the vessel to be perfect, buying the contraption from Runcible and retaining the intoxicated professor as his resident science officer. Hoping to ensnare a crew as bizarre as his ship, Dashworth planned to leave his mark in the history books aboard his impossible vessel of adventure.
